What are your needs that morphing is not accurate enough? Morphing is
far more accurate than using bones, but is generally a lot more work.
You basically have four choices for making an object talk:
1) sequenced image maps
2) articulated joints
3) mult-target morphing
4) bones
For realism, the last two are your best bets. Both can yield very good
results provided you expend the effort.
